이 시기에 키위 가족들이 아이들과 즐기는 활동을 소개해 드립니다. 아이들과 함께 좋은 추억을 만들수 있도록 이번 칼럼에서 알려드립니다. 

6 Tips for organising an Easter egg hunt

1. Find a suitable space for your Easter egg hunt

For toddlers and preschoolers, it’s a good idea to hold your hunt in a small, safe space so your little one won’t get lost or overwhelmed. 아직 어린아이들을 위해서는 다치지 않고 안전하게 할 수 있도록, 작고 안전한 곳에서 계획해야 합니다. 

If the weather’s fine, the garden is the perfect option or if it's cold and windy, your house makes a great option too. 날씨가 좋다면 집 정원이 좋고 바람이 불거나 추우면 집안도 좋은 장소입니다. 

2. Buy some Easter eggs

Go for a variety of chocolate Easter eggs, from small mini eggs to larger (more visible) foil wrapped eggs or buy plastic eggs which open up and you can pop a few little treats inside.

알루미늄 포일에 싸여 있는 크고 작은 초콜릿을 사거나 작은 플라스틱 케이스 안에 작은 장난감들이 들어 있는 이스터 에그를 구매합니다.

3. Easter egg baskets

An Easter egg hunt can’t happen without baskets to collect all the eggs in! 이스터 에그를 담을 바구니가 꼭 있어야 합니다!

Either buy your Easter baskets or make and decorate your own. 구매하거나 만들어도 됩니다.

Your toddler or preschooler can even just use a bowl or bucket to collect the eggs in. Whatever you have to hand. 아주 어린아이들은 작은 그릇이나 양동이를 사용해도 됩니다.

4. Keep it simple

Don’t make the hiding places too tricky, bear your toddler or preschooler's age in mind. 아이들의 나이를 고려해서 너무 어려운 곳에 숨기면 안 됩니다.

Otherwise the egg hunt will last too long and your kids will start to get bored. 시간이 길어지면 아이들이 지루해질 수 있으니까요.

Hide the Easter eggs in obvious places rather than under or inside other objects. 이스터 에그는 물건아래나 안쪽 보다는 잘 보이는 곳에 숨깁니다.

Try cutting out large coloured arrows to direct them the right way or up the excitement level with a very basic treasure map. 큰 화살표나 보물 지도를 이용하면 더 재미있게 할 수 있습니다.

Alternatively, if your egg hunt is indoors, you can use a trail of jelly beans or raisins to help show your toddler or preschooler the way. 실내에서 할 경우 젤리빈이나 건포도를 활용해도 됩니다.

5. Set some ground rules for your Easter egg hunt

It's always good to set a few ground rules before you start the Easter egg hunt to ensure things are kept fair for everyone involved. 사냥을 시작하기 전에 모두에게 공정한 기본 규칙을 만들면 좋습니다.

Just simple things like sharing, taking turns and being patient can make all the difference to how things run. 서로 나누고 순서를 정하고 인내심도 갖고 기다리는 등 간단한 규칙만으로도 게임 진행에 차이가 납니다.

If you have a large group of children, pair the younger ones up with the older ones. Toddlers and preschoolers can sometimes be overwhelmed by older kids so it works better if they can work in teams. 

만약 아이들의 수가 많다면 어린 아이들을 조금 더 나이가 있는 아이들과 짝을 지어주면 더 잘 활동할 수 있습니다.

6. Keep things fair

If your Easter egg hunt includes more than one child, colour code the eggs and ask each child to find one particular colour only. Just make sure you have the same number of eggs for each child. 두 명 이상의 아이들이 참여한다면 에그의 색상을 지정하고 찾게 하면 됩니다. 반드시 모든 색상의 에그 숫자는 동일해야 합니다.

You can fill shop-bought plastic eggs cases with Easter toys or other treats if you don’t want to use chocolate Easter eggs. 마트에서 파는 초콜릿 이스터 에그를 사용하고 싶지 않으면 케이스에 작은 장난감으로 채워서 사용해도 됩니다.

Or you can hide homemade hard-boiled painted Easter eggs that you and your little one can paint together once they’ve found them all. 혹은 집에서 삶은 달걀로 아이들이 꾸며서 사용해도 됩니다.

Every Easter, children across the country rush around their homes and gardens searching for chocolate eggs. For many families Easter just isn’t Easter without the annual egg hunt. 매 부활절마다 전국의 정원은 이 이스터 에크 헌트 활동으로 바빠진답니다.
